Last updated: October 6, 2026. Yumio processes information to provide cooking features, manage subscriptions, maintain the service, and, with your permission, measure and improve our advertising.
Information the app processes
- Your selected or custom ingredients, diet mode, serving count, language, and recipe choices.
- A randomly generated installation identifier used to reconnect saved recipes, cooking progress, and step conversations. Yumio does not require an account in the current version.
- Photos you choose to scan. The app converts the selected image to JPEG and sends it to the recipe service for visual ingredient analysis.
- Messages you send to Chef Panda and the recipe-step context required to answer them.
- Technical request information normally handled by hosting infrastructure, such as IP address and request time.
- Subscription product, purchase, and entitlement information handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your payment card details.
- App interactions and diagnostic information, such as app version, device model, errors, and performance, used to understand and improve reliability.
How information is used
We use this information to identify visible ingredients, generate personalized recipe suggestions, produce cooking steps, preserve your progress, answer step-specific questions, keep the service reliable, and prevent abuse.
Storage and sharing
Saved recipe and chat data is stored in Yumio's hosted database. Recipe, chat, and scan requests may be processed by infrastructure and AI service providers solely to operate the requested feature. Pantry photos, ingredients, dietary preferences, recipes, and Chef Panda messages are not sent to TikTok for advertising.
Optional advertising measurement
Starting with version 1.0.2, if you allow tracking in Apple's permission prompt, Yumio uses the TikTok App Events SDK to measure and improve Yumio advertisements. TikTok receives device and SDK identifiers (including IDFA and IDFV), IP address, device and app details, app opens and eligible first opens, and completed trial or purchase events with the product, amount, and currency when available. TikTok may associate these events with information from its services and other apps or websites for advertising measurement and optimization. Its SDK also processes technical diagnostics.
We do not initialize the TikTok SDK before tracking permission is granted. Declining permission does not limit Yumio's features. We disable automatic purchase reporting and enhanced data postback; pantry content, screen text, email addresses, and phone numbers are not included in our advertising events. Apple may separately provide privacy-preserving attribution through SKAdNetwork.

Your choices
Camera and photo access are optional. You can continue by selecting ingredients manually. You can also change the app language in Settings and manage notification permission in iOS Settings. To change advertising permission, open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and change Yumio’s setting. When permission is denied or revoked, Yumio stops sending new advertising events. Contact info@adacomp.us for privacy questions or deletion requests; include your Yumio support identifier if available, not payment card information.
Do not include faces, addresses, documents, or other sensitive information in ingredient-scan photos.
Simple rules for a useful cooking companion.
Yumio provides recipe ideas and cooking assistance for general informational purposes. Check allergies, food safety, appliance instructions, ingredient condition, internal temperatures, and dietary requirements yourself. AI-generated suggestions can be incomplete or incorrect.
Subscriptions
Yumio requires a paid auto-renewable subscription. Eligible users may receive a free trial. The price, trial eligibility, and billing period shown in Apple's purchase sheet control. Your subscription renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings. Restore Purchases reconnects an existing eligible subscription.
License and platform terms
Use of the iOS app is also governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, upload unlawful material, or treat the app as professional medical or nutritional advice. Features may change as Yumio develops.

If you already subscribe, use Restore Purchases in Yumio with the same Apple ID. Manage billing and cancellations through Apple’s subscription settings. Contact Apple for refund requests.
